A TREATISE ON FAITH: When you build a temple in your consciousness upon the rock of faith, by your works you will make your life a monument of beauty, whether the 'world' knows and enjoys it or knows it not. This, in effect, represents the eternal as well as the universal significance of Faith.
BIBLE LESSONS: Twenty talks given by Vitvan before he discovered General Semantics. Using texts from the Old Testament, the New Testament and James Morgan Pryse's Restored New Testament, Vitvan describes how the ancient wisdom can be found in familiar Biblical quotations.
CLEAR THINKING: introducing the basic principles of conscious abstracting, a synthesis of ancient practices in self-awareness plus modern techniques of self-analysis and evaluation. Armed at keeping levels straight, this set of techniques helps clarify thinking as well as feeling processes.
COSMOLOGY: The cosmic process has been the study of seers since ancient times. In Vitvan's view, a new approach is necessary for the modern student who no longer thinks in mystical terms, but requires a correlation of the ancient wisdom in the language of modern physics and general semantics.
DAWN OF THE NEW DAY: A correlation of scientific findings with description of the Cosmic Process as perceived and presented in the ageless Wisdom Teaching.
DISCIPLINE IN THE NATURAL ORDER: "Here in our school we have a goal....We are striving to polarize to the Light .... Get yourself quiet and steady. 'Sit tight and hold steady.' It is work. We try to polarize our forces lo Will, Love, and Mind, the 'lower' level of Light's Regions.
If you once can get polarized lo Light's Regions, you will never lack for anything. You will have a creative flow that will make you 'successful' in whatever you do, because you will have a creative flow that will work....You can feel that sustaining Power if you remain polarized to Light's Regions....You will always be full of peace and love and happiness
FOUR SOMATIC DIVISIONS OF MAN: Earth, Water, Air and Fire --- ancient symbols used in the Gnostic teachings given more than two thousand years ago. Vitvan describes how the modern reader can find meaning in these ancient symbols. With these simple tools students can learn to understand their own motivations more clearly.
FUNDAMENTALS OF THE SCHOOL OF THE NATURAL ORDER: Short summary of the basic precepts of the Teachings as given by Vitvan. The text includes introductory lessons on the structure of the psyche as well as on the first principles of General Semantics. A clear, concise outline of the Fundamentals.
HEALING TECHNIC: Presenting a sound basis for the New Age Therapeutics; a new view of man himself; for the student as well as for those in the healing professions, New Age teachers and counselors
HOW TO DISCIPLINE THE PSYCHE: A step-by-step approach to living in the joy-song, in the radiance of agape. The next development in consciousness will be characterized by an impersonal love (agape) radiating from the heart chakra. Vitvan explains the problems inherent in getting control of the disorganized forces of personality and the great potential for creative love when those forces are brought under control.
NINE STEPS ON THE LADDER OF DEVELOPMENT: A brief overview of the basic steps in any self-development program. Using the ancient system of chakras as a guide to motivations, Vitvan presents a format to help students become aware of the creative forces which motivate us. Only those in conscious control of these creative forces can proceed on the Ladder of Development.
ON THE NATURE OF HEALING: "The healing process means to return to the natural order, to return to the fundamental point in the evolutionary process from which (we have) departed...if there is no departure there will be no sickness, disease, trouble, worry, etc." How did we depart? What must we learn to restore the natural order in ourselves?
PERCEPTIVE INSIGHT: A new articulation of the Wisdom Teaching in a modern scientific form and structure, introducing methodology whereby perceptive faculties are developed.
SELF-MASTERY THROUGH MEDITATION: There is no simple answer to the question "What is meditation?" This book comprehends several answers presented by Vitvan over a thirteen year period (1947-1960). These selections reflect the vast scope of the subject and the sensitive responsiveness of our teacher, as well as the wide-ranging powers of his perception. During one conversation on the ancient wisdom teachings, a student was heard to say, "Meditation is the whole thing..." Vitvan could not let that statement go unchallenged. "No," he said, "mediation is not the whole thing, but the KEY to the whole thing."
SEVEN INITIATIONS: In preparation for publication.
SEVEN RAYS OF DEVELOPMENT: "The seven rays of development stem from the Logos, the only begotten Son, in whom all Power, all Light, all Existences center. It is symbolized by Solomon's Seal, a dual triangle...the first three rays are called Will, Activity, and Love." The combinations of the first three create rays four through seven, Science, Harmony, Devotion, and Ceremonial.
THE CHRISTOS: "The theme of The Christos is the evolutionary ascent of consciousness back to the godhead; it examines the process at work in not just one man, but in the human race....Jesus was a person in time, but the Christos is an eternal transpersonal condition of being, to which all may eventually rise. [from John White's review in Science of Mind Magazine]
THE DEVA LINE OF DEVELOPMENT: how do you understand the word "angel"- If you would like to know how a twentieth century American teacher understands this term and relates it to evolution and spiritual development, then read Vitvan's lessons on Devas.
THE NATURAL ORDER PROCESS: The Natural Order Process, Basic Teachings of the School of the Natural Order, given in three volumes: Volume One establishes The Foundation Work and The Science of Semantics; Volume Two is a comprehensive study of the sutras of Patanjali, describing the way to mastership through learning control of one's psychic nature; Volume Three delineates The Language of the Initiates and concludes with The Telestic Work. (Indexed)
THE NEW CYCLE GNOSIS: A Non-metaphysical Cosmology. Why cannot the instruction given in the School of the Natural Order be classified as 'metaphysical'-
THE PROBLEM OF GOOD AND EVIL: After paying homage to the contributions of Gerald Massey to the understanding of ancient Egypt, Vitvan lays out the fundamental principles underlying all psychosomatic disease, mental illness, etc. He attempts to put the axe to the root of everything corrupt and perverted in the race consciousness of the Adamic man. A difficult work, but one well worth the reading. Included at the end of the book are numerous short commentaries introducing new ways of thinking and fascinating topics for meditation. (Hard Bound)
THE VEIL OF MAYA: Elucidating the thought-structure underlying world-wide conflict; understanding the present chaotic transition . period in the light of adherence to obsolete philosophical tenets. The crucial need for a new basic philosophy representing the structure of the Universe as understood in this Einsteinian Age. Price $1.00.
THE WAY TO MASTERSHIP: a brief outline and description of the way to mastership. Vitvan says that while he knows the way, he would not claim the title" master of the wisdom," because "when we stand high enough to see what there is yet to do and yet to know, we become very humble--- true humility in the presence of such vastness."
TREE OF LIFE: The ancient system of symbology is described as it applies to the individualizing process. Each student, therefore, can relate it to himself. Only in this way can a student gradually work into the consciousness of the impersonal forces represented by the stations of the Tree of Life.
UNIVERSAL WILL: published in 1930 by the School of the Sacred Science (the pre-SNO school of Vitvan). "I use the name Universal Will to stand for all the names by which man refers to the Infinite, God. I undertake to show...that it is only through individualization that the Universal Will becomes aware. Hence, God needs man, even as man needs God." Vitvan quotes extensive scripture, but distinguishes between religion as "astralized flight from reality" and the dynamic individuating process of the Universal Will.
VITVAN: AN AMERICAN MASTER: A biography of Vitvan by Richard Satriano. "No one previously has quite accomplished what VITVAN (1883-1964) did... (he) attempted to present an overall view of the Gnosis couched in current scientific and philosophical language. He makes demands on his readers. His work does not permit a cursory overview from cover to cover." (from the Forward by Israel Regardie, Author of The Golden Dawn)
WHEN THE SUN MOVES NORTHWARD: by Mabel Collins, commentary by Vitvan. Mabel Collins' book , written in 1923, describes the litanies and ceremonies that take place on the 'inner' levels during the season of the sun's northward journey. Vitvan's commentaries provide a deeper understanding of the significance of those events. They were originally given for students at Vitvan's ashram for his School of the Sacred Science in the early 1930's. The mystical terminology used dates from a period prior to Vitvan's restatement of his work in semantically correct terminology.
