You will be receiving a new and vital lesson course in this year’s subscription. Description of the Psychic World was given by Vitvan in 1954 for a group of students who were in need of instruction as to how to handle themselves in the psychic world. In other words, these lessons do not include descriptions of higher levels of consciousness many of us cannot hope to attain for many incarnations. Instead, this course describes not only the nature of the psychic world but also how a student can safely proceed with his development through this particularly treacherous stage of his development. Vitvan said about this course:

I do not want to convey the impression that we advocate psychic development, that we subscribe to it, or that we think that one will gain something in true growth and development by learning to function in the psychic world. There is an oriental saying, “Hidden under every flower that grows in the psychic world, a serpent coileth.” To enjoy picking the flowers without getting struck by the serpent requires a high degree of development and discrimination, which the average person does not possess at all.…

We are taking up the study of the psychic world for one reason. Some of our students have reached a point in their self-development program where they have entered what we call the purificatory period…Consequently the psychic world is becoming close, so it is in order to give a more detailed and minute description of the psychic nature….

…Through the process of growth and development we open consciousness to the psychic world and have to cope with its influences and the content of the unconscious. It is like taking the lid off the garbage can. We discover the worlds by which we have been motivated all the time, while our consciousness was in objective identity and we were unconscious of the influences by which we were motivated and controlled....

Do we advocate psychic development in our school? No, we do not. Here is what we do advocate: as one has learned sanitation and hygiene in the objective sense, so he must learn sharp discrimination between influences that are constructive and wholesome and the influences that tend to drag one down and back into darkness—into hell.

This important set of lessons has not been published for several years. If you have been wishing for help in taking your next steps on the path of self-development, perhaps this is the information you have been waiting for.

Of course, we will continue the other features currently enjoyed by many of you—the news of Home Farm happenings found in the “Around the Place” section, and our “Also of Interest” feature that appears in each issue. We are always on the lookout of items of interest that deal with some aspect of the wisdom teachings covered by other seekers and teachers throughout the world. If you happen upon something you think would be of interest to your fellow students, we would encourage you to send it along for publication in this section.

We hope you want to continue to enjoy Resonance, or if you are not now a subscriber, that you would like to see what the School of the Natural Order has to offer you as a seeker of truth, student of the wisdom, or “Treader of the Path.” Subscription is $24.00 annually for 6 issues published bi-monthly.

We accept VISA/Mastercard as well as checks. Call Val Taylor at 775-234-7304, or send your check to the address below, made payable to the School of the Natural Order. We can also accept payment through Paypal (see below).
